Boats can be hired from the campsite by the hour most weekends in
the summer and every day during the high season when weather is suitable.

jeans are not permitted. They can give you advice on paddling styles and methods for the different kayaks and canoes that we hire.
The river is on average a metre deep (though there are holes) and is safe for families and inexperienced paddlers. Those with more experience can go out on the lake.
Be aware that the water temperature in the river

lake is great for swimming.

These group discounts are subject to availability of boats, so it pays to contact us in advance if you are a large group.
All prices include bouyancy aids and paddles. Some rafting equipment can also be provided. Most open boats and kayaks have buoyancy blocks or airbags.
Generally in a group your instructor or leader is responsible for everyone in your group and we simply provide the boats, buoyancy aids and paddles (although you may prefer to provide your own and get everyone geared up before arriving). However we may be able to arrange a qualified instructor if you give us advance notice.
We have a separate information sheet on activities that include instruction, see our activities page. Adventures that do include instruction can include boat based activities as well as gorge walking, abseiling and climbing, all based near the campsite..
All our rates include VAT at 20%, so if you are a VAT registered organisation please ask us for a VAT invoice and claim this back. Please email us at enquiries@gwynant.com for availability or for invoices in advance.
