Group
regulations for Llyn Gwynant Campsite
Nantgwynant, North Wales
Campsite regulations are available in a
printable version from our document
library.
Llyn Gwynant Campsite is one of the few
places where groups as well as families are accepted for camping. However
all groups, including gatherings of more than one family, are accepted
only if they agree to abide by the campsite
regulations as well as the following conditions. In particular we
require that our visitors are respectful of our staff, other campers,
and the environment.
Noise:
Our campsite is for nature lovers'. Stereos, radios and other
sound systems are not allowed. We do permit acoustic instruments. But
this is not the place for parties or loud gatherings. Many people on
site are walkers and need to retire early so as to leave early for mountain
walking and other activities. We therefore require that after 11.00pm
all campers behave quietly. Talking is acceptable but only quietly and
in small groups - shouting from one side of a large group to the other
is not acceptable. To keep the peace we will register your group and
ask you to pay a noise bond if we have not met the group before, or
have any doubts about the behaviour of any members.
Dogs:
Dogs are welcomed only if they are kept on a leash.
Fires:
Groups are not to have large fires, unless they are in the special group
campfire area of Cae Hendre. Fires are to be only in a single firepit
- anything larger kills the grass.
Recycling:
Groups are required to separate cans and glass for recycling.
If you are a large group we can arrange for large labelled bins to help
you with this effort.
Valuables:
Please be aware that even in our beautiful part of Wales, thieves
have been known to operate. Groups should take care to cover iitems
such as cameras in their cars or tents so as to reduce the likelihood
of theft.
Responsible youth leaders
We will not hesitate to admonish and/or report
to authorities any member of staff we believe has acted irresponsibly
or recklessly towards the young people under their care, or towards
us and our property, or towards members of the public and their property.
